At Pease Baseball Professionals (PBP), we have a new, exciting program to roll out this year that will bring the absolute best player development experience to the local baseball community here in Frederick, MD, as well as the surrounding states, from which we draw talent who find value in the quality of instruction we provide at PBP.

After ample contemplation, in the upcoming weeks we plan to invest in a Trackman system, which will tremendously enhance our player development model. Trackman technology has become the industry leader in data tracking for professional and collegiate baseball (Any data or information you see on MLB TV broadcasts and MLB online statcast data is all provided by Trackman). Professional and NCAA collegiate programs hold Trackman data in high regard within their respective recruiting/scouting departments. This system, however, utilized in every MLB stadium across the country, comes at a very steep price, especially the Trackman model we will be purchasing that assesses both pitchers AND hitters. Therefore, we are looking for players interested in investing in their progress over time.

Many of you may be asking, what does Trackman actually do? To say the least—EVERYTHING. It tracks every single metric available for hitters and pitchers in terms of player physical movement/positioning (hitting/swing and pitching/throw mechanics) all the way to baseball trajectories, locations, spin, axis, ball flight, distance, 3D contact points, and velocity. There are more intricate pieces of data it produces and our assessment process in translating this data is what will impact player development and performance over time. Access to this information is invaluable to our development team here at PBP in terms of optimizing a blueprint of development and tracking progress. Our expertise will make this immense amount of data easier to understand, digestible, and transferable to improving our players.

Having your own personal access to this information to share with recruiters in this day and age is an invaluable asset in addition to the vast amounts of assistance it provides in developing player skill and performance. We will also be offering ‘showcase videos’ where we can attach the data to it, giving recruiters / scouts a deeper look of a players ability. This opportunity will be available to players of all ages to begin tracking and recording progress over time. Below are available options for subscribing to Trackman technology at PBP.

Glove repair

For coaches, parents, and players; I have had some people express some interest in my services being able to repair gloves. If you have a glove that needs to be fixed I’m your guy, however YOU will be in charge of getting the lace. I have the tools and knowledge to fix any glove. Price for a repair is quite reasonable in my opinion.

Mount Saint Mary’s Winter Camps

Mount Saint Mary’s University will be hosting winter camps in January and February. There will be 2 separate camps. The first camp in January will be a pitching camp for ages ranging from youth to high school. The February camp will be a hitting camp and the ages will also be youth to high school. The Mount is committed to providing the best instruction within their camps. I will be the main instructor during the pitching camp and Coach Thomson will be taking the lead on the hitting side. It is a great chance to get some work in on a college campus, meet some of our college players, and continue learning the wonderful sport of baseball. Southern Maryland Baseball Camp – Winter

The Southern Maryland Baseball Camp will be holding sessions on Sunday January 11th, 18th, and 25th in 2015. Below I will have the link posted to the website to register for the camp. I highly recommend this camp to all of my high school pitchers and hitters interested in playing beyond high school. The camp will have anywhere from 30-40 college coaches each weekend for three weekends; it is a great chance to get exposure! Evaluation Sheets Ready

Coach Pease has finalized his evaluation sheets for the pitching side. Any new pitchers will have a fresh evaluation page at the conclusion of the first lesson giving you a solid evaluation on 23 of the most important aspects of the pitching motion. For my pitchers who have been seeing me constantly please let me know if you would like to re-evaluation in which we can have this done at your next lesson. This is a good tool to see the things we have corrected and the things that still need attention and work.

November Showcase Camp

Mount Saint Mary’s Baseball will be hosting a showcase camp on Saturday, November 1st from 9am-4pm. The camp is open to high school grades 9-12.

$100.00 The morning session will be a pro style workout with Defensive and Hitting

Instruction. (9:00am-12:00 noon)

The afternoon session will be 1:00-4:00pm with games. Lunch will be on your own.

Mount Saint Mary’s Summer Camps

Coach Pease will be instructing at the Mount Saint Mary’s baseball camps this summer (2014) hosted by head coach Scott Thomson. The camps will be held on July 14th-16 (ages 7-12), July 20-23 (ages 13-18) overnight and commuter camp, July 28-30 (ages 6-12).
