Brett Ahalt

Born and raised in Woodsboro, Maryland, Brett Ahalt emerged as a multi-sport athlete at Walkersville High School, excelling in both baseball and football. On the diamond, he was recognized by Perfect Game as the No. 20 overall prospect and No. 4 second baseman in Maryland. His natural tools—speed, bat control, and glove work—earned him Preseason All-American honors, while his toughness and leadership were also on display on the football field, where he helped lead Walkersville to a Maryland 2A State Championship.

Ahalt’s dedication and versatility drew the attention of major collegiate programs, ultimately leading him to begin his college career in one of the nation’s premier baseball conferences.

College Career: Clemson, George Mason, and High Point

Clemson University (2020–2021)
Ahalt began his collegiate career on scholarship at Clemson University, a perennial powerhouse in the ACC. Though his freshman campaign was hampered by injury and redshirted in 2021, the experience proved formative. Training alongside some of the best collegiate talent in the country, Ahalt honed his skills, developed mentally, and built the foundation for the success that would follow.

George Mason University (2022)
In search of more playing time and an opportunity to make an immediate impact, Ahalt transferred to George Mason University in 2022—and he wasted no time proving himself. Starting 45 of 47 games, he posted a stellar .329 batting average with 12 doubles, 2 home runs, and 32 RBIs. He also showed an advanced approach at the plate, drawing 24 walks and finishing with a .414 on-base percentage. His average ranked him among the top 15 hitters in the Atlantic 10 Conference, establishing him as one of the premier offensive threats in the league.

High Point University (2023–2024)
After a standout year at George Mason, Ahalt transferred once more—this time to High Point University—where his game would reach new heights. In 2023, he started all 49 games and led the Panthers in multiple offensive categories, including batting average (.333), home runs (11), RBIs (42), slugging percentage (.575), and stolen bases (13). His 18-game hitting streak, one of the longest in program history, underscored his consistency and ability to produce in high-pressure situations. That season, he was named to the All-Big South Second Team and recognized as one of the most complete outfielders in the conference.

In 2024, Ahalt continued to showcase his tools, hitting .248 with 7 home runs, 26 RBIs, and 7 stolen bases in just 31 games, while posting a perfect fielding percentage in the outfield. His versatility—being able to hit for power, steal bases, and provide defensive stability—made him a critical piece in High Point’s lineup.

Towson University (2025)

In his senior season with the Towson University Tigers, Brett Ahalt delivered a standout performance that showcased both consistency and athleticism. He posted a solid .273 batting average and an impressive .781 slugging percentage, collecting 45 hits, including 13 doubles and 2 home runs. Ahalt drove in 18 runs and crossed the plate 26 times, proving to be a reliable offensive contributor. On the basepaths, he demonstrated sharp instincts and speed, successfully stealing 13 bases in 16 attempts. Defensively and at the plate, he remained disciplined, drawing 5 walks and striking out zero times throughout the season. With a .351 on-base percentage and a .430 fielding percentage, Ahalt rounded out a well-balanced and impactful final collegiate campaign that left a lasting impression on the program.

FROM THE FOUNDER

Meet Our Instructor: Brett Ahalt

When I think of Brett Ahalt, I think of a player who always played the game with intensity and purpose. I’ve seen firsthand the way he approaches baseball—he’s a hitter who combines patience with explosiveness, finding ways to hit for both average and power. In the outfield, Brett has always stood out with his reads, jumps, and an arm that makes runners think twice about testing him. He’s a left-handed bat that brings real value to any lineup, and his instincts on the bases make him a constant threat.

What impresses me most about Brett isn’t just his ability on the field—it’s who he is off of it. He’s a respected teammate, a natural leader, and someone who embodies resilience. His college career had its share of highs and lows, but he never wavered in his commitment to the game. That’s what makes him such a strong example for young athletes: he knows what it takes to push through, to show up early, to stay late, and to never settle.

Now, Brett is pouring that same passion into coaching. He’s on staff at Towson University and he’s joined our team here at Pease Baseball Professionals as a private instructor. His knowledge of the game, his experience competing at a high level, and his genuine love for teaching make him a huge asset to our community.

If you’re looking for hitting or fielding instruction, I can’t recommend Brett enough. He’s the kind of coach who makes a difference—whether it’s helping you square up more baseballs, refine your defensive skills, or simply build confidence on the field. I’m proud to have him here with us, and I know our athletes will benefit from working with him. –Dustin Pease
