At Pease Baseball Professionals, we treat catching as one of the most demanding and influential positions on the field. Our instruction is built through years of hands-on development with catchers who have learned to control the game, lead pitching staffs, and handle the physical and mental demands of the position.
We focus on the details that matter at game speed. Everything we teach is intentional, repeatable, and designed to translate directly to competition.
Our catching instruction emphasizes clean, efficient receiving that allows catchers to present pitches properly and steal strikes without excess movement. Blocking is trained through controlled, progressive drills that build confidence handling pitches in the dirt while maintaining athletic posture and recovery.
Throwing mechanics are developed to improve footwork, transfer efficiency, accuracy, and pop times. We prioritize clean movement patterns that allow catchers to throw with intent while protecting their bodies over the long term.
Great catchers do more than catch baseballs. They manage pitchers, control tempo, and bring calm to chaotic moments. We train catchers to understand pitch calling, situational awareness, and how to lead a staff with confidence. Communication, presence, and decision-making are treated as skills that can and should be developed.
The technology and tools we use exist to enhance instruction, not replace it. When implemented, they provide clear feedback and measurable progress while reinforcing the fundamentals taught on the floor. Data is used to sharpen understanding and accelerate growth, never to overwhelm the athlete.
Our coaches build strong relationships with catchers because trust is essential at this position. We hold our athletes to high standards while mentoring them through the challenges that come with the role. Leadership is modeled daily, not demanded.
Catching develops qualities that extend far beyond baseball. Accountability, toughness, communication, and resilience are part of every session. Our commitment is to develop catchers who lead with confidence, compete with purpose, and carry those traits into every area of their lives.
“We develop catchers who control the game, not just the position.”

We are very fortunate to have Brady as one of instructors here at Pease Baseball Professionals. Brady has now joined us full time after retiring from professional baseball. Currently his 4th year instructing at PBP. Brady’s hard work and talent have developed tremendously during his time as a player from high school, college and to the professional ranks. His ascension through the ranks is a true testament to the amount hard work and dedication one can attribute to their craft and purpose.
Brady does exceptional work inspiring players not only through teaching baseball fundamentals and advanced skills, but hitting on key components like the mental game, and nuances that truly separate players from one another. It takes a special kind of individual to be able to connect with others the way that Brady is capable, and any players that cross his path are in for a true treat. We feel very very lucky to be able to provide this opportunity for young players to learn from Brady.

Governor Hogan has announced lifted restrictions on the state of Maryland as a part of phase one of recovery from the COVID19 pandemic. Pease Baseball Academy is excited to re-open on Friday 5/15, biding by state guidelines. As a disclaimer, we do not identify as a gym as mainly all operations occur by appointment only, and there are mainly never more than 5 people inside the building at a time with private instruction only. For the time being we will be limiting all group instruction (IE Live at bats, hitting groups, SNIPE velocity) until further notice since we will be operating at a limited capacity.
Pease Baseball COVID Guidelines for those attending sessions or appointments are available in confirmation texts the day of lessons. If you are specifically interested in our COVID Guidelines please reach out to me direct, and I will send you a link or copy of the guidelines we have set in place until further notice.
I would like to personally thank everyone who has reached out since we have been closed as your support has been greatly appreciated. Looking forward to returning to action and hopefully getting back to some sort of baseball here soon!
Yours in Baseball – stay safe and healthy,
Dustin Pease
