At Pease Baseball Professionals, we believe elite defense is developed through detail, repetition, and intent. Our fielding instruction is built on years of daily work with infielders and outfielders who have learned how to slow the game down, trust their preparation, and make difficult plays look routine.
Defense is not reactive here. It is trained, anticipated, and owned.
Every defensive role carries unique demands. Our instruction is tailored specifically to infielders and outfielders, addressing the footwork, angles, reads, and responsibilities required at each position. We teach athletes how to move efficiently into and through the baseball so their mechanics hold up under pressure.
We develop soft hands, clean exchanges, and efficient foot patterns that allow defenders to stay athletic through the ball. Transfers are trained with intent, helping players move quickly from fielding to throwing without wasted motion. Precision matters, especially when time is limited.
Great defenders win the first step. We train reaction speed, agility, and body control to build explosive first movements and confident recovery. The goal is simple: arrive on time, under control, and ready to make the play.
Strong, accurate throws across the diamond are built through sound mechanics and repeatable movement patterns. We train throwing efficiency that allows players to generate arm strength while maintaining consistency and long-term health.
Defense is as much mental as it is physical. We teach situational awareness, anticipation, and decision-making so players understand where the play is going before the ball is hit. Preparation creates confidence, and confidence creates consistency.
Our coaches build strong relationships with players while holding them to high defensive standards. Communication, effort, and attention to detail are non-negotiables. Defensive excellence is expected, not optional.
Fielding develops discipline, awareness, and trust in preparation. These traits carry into competition and life beyond baseball. Our commitment is to develop defenders who take pride in their craft and responsibility in every rep.
“Great defense doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built through preparation and accountability.”

Born and raised in Woodsboro, Maryland, Brett Ahalt emerged as a multi-sport athlete at Walkersville High School, excelling in both baseball and football. On the diamond, he was recognized by Perfect Game as the No. 20 overall prospect and No. 4 second baseman in Maryland. His natural tools—speed, bat control, and glove work—earned him Preseason All-American honors, while his toughness and leadership were also on display on the football field, where he helped lead Walkersville to a Maryland 2A State Championship.
Ahalt’s dedication and versatility drew the attention of major collegiate programs, ultimately leading him to begin his college career in one of the nation’s premier baseball conferences.
Clemson University (2020–2021)
Ahalt began his collegiate career on scholarship at Clemson University, a perennial powerhouse in the ACC. Though his freshman campaign was hampered by injury and redshirted in 2021, the experience proved formative. Training alongside some of the best collegiate talent in the country, Ahalt honed his skills, developed mentally, and built the foundation for the success that would follow.
George Mason University (2022)
In search of more playing time and an opportunity to make an immediate impact, Ahalt transferred to George Mason University in 2022—and he wasted no time proving himself. Starting 45 of 47 games, he posted a stellar .329 batting average with 12 doubles, 2 home runs, and 32 RBIs. He also showed an advanced approach at the plate, drawing 24 walks and finishing with a .414 on-base percentage. His average ranked him among the top 15 hitters in the Atlantic 10 Conference, establishing him as one of the premier offensive threats in the league.
High Point University (2023–2024)
After a standout year at George Mason, Ahalt transferred once more—this time to High Point University—where his game would reach new heights. In 2023, he started all 49 games and led the Panthers in multiple offensive categories, including batting average (.333), home runs (11), RBIs (42), slugging percentage (.575), and stolen bases (13). His 18-game hitting streak, one of the longest in program history, underscored his consistency and ability to produce in high-pressure situations. That season, he was named to the All-Big South Second Team and recognized as one of the most complete outfielders in the conference.
In 2024, Ahalt continued to showcase his tools, hitting .248 with 7 home runs, 26 RBIs, and 7 stolen bases in just 31 games, while posting a perfect fielding percentage in the outfield. His versatility—being able to hit for power, steal bases, and provide defensive stability—made him a critical piece in High Point’s lineup.
Towson University (2025)
In his senior season with the Towson University Tigers, Brett Ahalt delivered a standout performance that showcased both consistency and athleticism. He posted a solid .273 batting average and an impressive .781 slugging percentage, collecting 45 hits, including 13 doubles and 2 home runs. Ahalt drove in 18 runs and crossed the plate 26 times, proving to be a reliable offensive contributor. On the basepaths, he demonstrated sharp instincts and speed, successfully stealing 13 bases in 16 attempts. Defensively and at the plate, he remained disciplined, drawing 5 walks and striking out zero times throughout the season. With a .351 on-base percentage and a .430 fielding percentage, Ahalt rounded out a well-balanced and impactful final collegiate campaign that left a lasting impression on the program.
Brett Ahalt played the game with intensity and intelligence. Offensively, he brought a disciplined approach to the plate, blending bat speed and patience to hit for both average and power. Defensively, he is a confident outfielder with excellent reads, quick jumps, and a strong, accurate arm that deters runners from taking extra bases. His left-handed swing adds value at the plate, especially against right-handed pitching, while his base running instincts allow him to be a constant threat when on base.
Beyond the field, Ahalt is respected as a teammate and leader, which will make a strong impact on coaching the next generation of athletes and our PBP community. His collegiate journey—marked by transfers, setbacks, and triumphs—has shaped him into a mature, resilient athlete who leads by example. His coaches often describe him as “the first one in, last one out” type of player—relentlessly committed to the craft.
As Brett Ahalt transitions to the next level and his coaching career (Towson University Assistant Coach / Pease Baseball Professionals private instructor), he brings with him a deep understanding of the game, proven production against top-tier collegiate competition, and the passion to teach and mentor others. His trajectory continues to rise, and he remains driven by the same core principles that have carried him this far: hard work, humility, and a passion for the game.
Whether it’s stretching a double into a triple, gunning down a runner at the plate, or delivering a clutch hit in a tight game, Brett Ahalt is a difference-maker—and one you’re going to get connected with for private instruction. He specializes in hitting and fielding. Get in touch with him today and begin booking your sessions!
Governor Hogan has announced lifted restrictions on the state of Maryland as a part of phase one of recovery from the COVID19 pandemic. Pease Baseball Academy is excited to re-open on Friday 5/15, biding by state guidelines. As a disclaimer, we do not identify as a gym as mainly all operations occur by appointment only, and there are mainly never more than 5 people inside the building at a time with private instruction only. For the time being we will be limiting all group instruction (IE Live at bats, hitting groups, SNIPE velocity) until further notice since we will be operating at a limited capacity.
Pease Baseball COVID Guidelines for those attending sessions or appointments are available in confirmation texts the day of lessons.
